CLASSES
Kiwi

Teacher: Melissa Watson (Mrs Watson)
In Kiwi we celebrate uniqueness and diversity. We are a team of learners who love to work collaboratively, with kindness and empathy being at the heart of all we do. We are all God’s children and strive to be the best version of ourselves.
Our space is fun filled, vibrant, full of student agency and exciting learning opportunities.
Fostering natural curiosity and developing children’s social and emotional wellbeing helps them develop skills to be life long, inquisitive learners. This is what we aim for in Kiwi class!

Tui

Teacher: Joanne Ryken (Mrs Ryken) and Stacey Cutler (Mrs Cutler)
In Tui we are a family of learners; we strongly believe that through kindness we can change the world. We aim to be kind to ourselves, others and the world.
Our school values are central to everything that we do both in and outside the classroom. We show these by taking care of our school and our classroom, by being respectful, supporting others; putting others first and keeping our promises.
We always strive to do our best and believe we are capable of achieving anything we set our minds to. We view our mistakes as opportunities, find solutions to our problems and remember to always use our strengths.
In Tui we aspire to be like Jesus by being great role models.
Te Kahu

Teacher: Danielle Thomson (Whaea Danni)
Te Kahu is a whanau who is proud to be who they are, they respect each other’s cultures, differences, opinions and individuality. They are a class of independent learners who always strive to do their best in all areas of learning. They take risks and challenge themselves. As leaders of Pompallier Catholic School they aim to uphold the Mercy Charism by reflecting on the school values. Te Kahu is full of driven, athletic, intelligent, creative and talented young people who set a good example for other students. They are role models to the younger students who share responsibility within the school by leading prayer assemblies, sports activities, house group challenges and special character days. We welcome you to check out our class site to see what we have been working on.

Piwakawaka

Teachers: Helen West (Mrs West) and Diane Nicholls (Mrs Nicholls)
Welcome to Piwakawaka class! This is our new entrant classroom where we celebrate learning and being at school as new 5 year olds.
Our classroom kaupapa is based on our Mercy School Values in which we learn to treat each other with respect, aroha and compassion. We learn to recognise our own strengths and special gifts and we learn to appreciate others and embrace our differences as a whanau of learners. We aim to have fun learning together and always be the best that we can be.
Our learning about Jesus gives us the knowledge we need to be more like Jesus in all that we do.
We are looking forward to sharing our new learning journeys with whanau.
